I have a big oak tree in my driveway, and when we had it paved they ran the asfalt right to the tree. Now I am getting dead limbs falling off. The driveway was done a few years ago, could this be killing the tree?
It might, but more likely is the tree’s roots continuing to grow, and causing buckling & cracking of the driveway. Trees, especially oaks, are pretty hardy.
My new house is almost done, but this constant rain in California is slowing down the laying of the paver driveway. My builder is going to try and lay it through the rain anyway. What are the risks to laying it in the rain?
It’s not a good idea but if you do it, make sure you have in writing that he will fix it if it is messed up.
Water might wash out or compact some of but not all of the underlay of stone before he can cover it.

Can I legally remove an easement that goes between my driveway & my neighbors?
We have a long driveway and the neighbor has their own driveway, but there is an easement between the two. I own the property along and around the easement. Can I legally remove it? There is no reason really for the neighbors to have to use it, they have there own driveway to use, but for some reason they do. We don’t use the easement either. Also as of right now the neighboring house is vacant and up for sale. We would like to remove it if we can before new people move in.
Is the easement recorded on the deed? If it is, you cannot remove it. If it’s just something that you have agreed on with your neighbor, then yes, you can remove. Check with your county. Hope this helps.

I have a driveway out of crushed stone. it has some ruts and also the hump in the middle of the driveway and the low spots where the cars run.
Do I just knock off the hump and restone the driveway?
I was told to use #57 stone about 3 inches thick.
Thanks for your help.
your better off renting a skid steer and cutting the driveway down to the bottom of the ruts. then spread out the gravel. if you just through stone down in the ruts it will be just like when the patch a pothole, last for awhile but will come back in the future. you could use 53 with stone dust. when applied at 3 inches it will pack nice and tight
